Ace head bookie operators should keep reading to discover the five games that will drive action.
2022 NFL Week 14 – Sunday
- When: Sunday, December 11, 2022
NFL Week 14 2022 – Top 5 Games
New York Jets at Buffalo Bills – 1:00 pm ET – CBS / Paramount
ATS odds: Bills -9.5
If you’re a bookie betting agent, you must consider laying the 9.5 in NFL week 14. That’s what most players are doing.
It’s not that Buffalo couldn’t cover the spread. But the Jets haven’t played a bad game in a while, and Mike White is turning out to be a great starter.
Action Prediction: Some action will end up on Buffalo. But the Bills are just 2-4 against the spread in their last 6. So at the end of the day, most of the action will fall onto the Jets.
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants – 1:00 pm ET – FOX
ATS odds: Eagles -6.5
Players are showing a lot of respect for both of these teams. Sportsbook software free sites show 52% are backing the Eagles and 48% are backing the Giants.
The Giants bounced back in NFL Week 13 from a pair of losses with a 20-20 tie versus the hot Washington Commanders. NYG gets Philly on their field.
Philadelphia dominated the Tennessee Titans 35-10 in their last. Philly plays less well on the road than at home.
Action Prediction: The action is close to 50/50 because the Eagles are 1-4 against spread lines on the road, and the Giants are 5-2 ATS at home. Don’t expect the action to go lopsided one way or another.
Then again, you could be a betting program agent who provides bookie website services to many New Yorkers or a ton of Philadelphians. As always, manage action in your book depending on what’s going on in your book.
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions – 1:00 pm ET – FOX
ATS odds: Lions -2.5
Detroit has impressed pro football handicappers so much that oddsmakers have set a line that makes the Lions, yes, the Lions, the chalk.
Making Detroit the chalk makes sense. The Lions beat Jacksonville 40-14 in their last. Also, Detroit has won 4-of-5 straight up, with the only loss in a contest against Super Bowl favorite Buffalo, and has covered in five straight.
But it’s not like Minnesota is a bad team. The Vikings are 2-1-1 against the spread on the road.
Action Prediction: If you’re one of those sports bookie software agents who like to throw down a bet once in a while, for sure, you have a handicapping conundrum.
The Lions will attract only a bit more action than they already have. The Vikings could attract a lot more action.
Detroit is on fire, but the Vikings beat a couple of possible AFC Playoff teams, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots, in their last two games.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers – 4:25 pm ET – FOX
ATS odds: 49ers -3.5
Tom Brady led the Buccaneers to a come from behind Monday night victory over the reeling New Orleans Saints. The Saints are a terrible football team.
So the Buccaneers shouldn’t have even been in a position to require a Brady rally. In any case, the Bucs got their sixth win of the season.
San Francisco lost QB Jimmy Garoppolo for the season. Kyle Shanahan loves this season’s Mr. Irrelevant, Iowa State QB Brock Purdy. Brock gets the start, which could explain why some players, 34% as of Tuesday, are backing the Buccaneers.
Action Prediction: Many players are dumping on SF, even with Purdy under center, because the Buccaneers’ offense is a travesty.
Sure, it scored enough to get by the Saints. That was an anomaly. The Niners’ defense has a big shot of shutting down Brady and the Bucs. So don’t be surprised if money continues to land on the Niners.
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers – 8:20 pm ET – NBC / Peacock
ATS odds: Dolphins -3
Both the Dolphins and Chargers lost their last games. The Bolts failed to beat the rival Raiders in a 27-20 defeat.
The Fins fell 33-17 to Miami. What’s disturbing about the Dolphins’ loss is that Brock Purdy played quarterback for most of the game.
So either Purdy is Joe Montana incarnate, or the Fins’ defense is a mess. The Chargers lost because they couldn’t stop the rush. The Bolts allow a twenty-ninth ranked 151.6 rushing yards per game.
Action Prediction: PPH bookie agents must set max limits on the Chargers’ money line. The Bolts’ offense should move the football against Miami’s atrocious defense.
Not only that, but the Raiders have been playing well. So losing to Las Vegas makes sense.
Most are siding with the Miami Dolphins. But pros have yet to get involved. So the closer we get to kickoff, the more money should go to the home team.
