The Lions Host the Bears
Detroit does not have a superstar quarterback, the best defense, or the best offense, but they have quietly been winning games and working through injuries to lead their division after ten weeks. They are a well-coached team with talent that can think on its feet.
Their secondary has been a weak link for them, as they’ve been instrumental in giving up over 30 points to the Seahawks, Chargers, and Ravens. But quarterback Jared Goff has been able to overcome most of those games and will be able to do so with the Bears.
The only concern for them is what will Chicago’s offense look like with the return of quarterback Justin Fields. He won’t make the difference of the Bears winning or losing, but he might make the difference of whether Detroit can cover or not. The spread has already dropped a little because of it.
Josh Allen Leads the NFL in Interceptions
When it gets to this point, you start wondering if there’s something in Allen’s personal life that would cause him to lose focus enough to throw so many interceptions. It could be that their opponents know to cover Stefon Diggs well because he’s the primary target. They’ve fired the offensive and defensive coordinators without a change in their fortune, which tells me they haven’t figured things out either.
At least the problems with the Jets are evident so that they can work out a solution. The Bills have an elite offense, but it doesn’t work. Even with the Bills favored by seven points, I would keep my limits in because they lost to the Jets in Week 1, and the Bills haven’t really improved.
Joshua Dobbs Works Well with a Functioning Offense
Last week, Dobbs showed that he wasn’t a one-hit-wonder when the Vikings defeated the Saints. They are now on a five-game winning streak.
Dobbs has worked with several teams, including Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and Arizona, and hasn’t done much to impress. Maybe all he needed was a good support group like Minnesota is providing. And this week should see the return of wide receiver Justin Jefferson to add to his weapons.
Denver has won three games in a row against the Packers, Chiefs, and Bills, which makes you think they’ve turned their season around, but I’m not convinced. Keep your limits in. The oddsmakers may have picked the wrong horse.
Seattle is Setting the Stage for Their 49ers Showdown
The Seahawks won against the Commanders and are tied with the 49ers for the lead in the NFC West. San Francisco is favored by 11.5 points against Tampa Bay, so Seattle needs to win against the Los Angeles Rams before meeting the 49ers in Week 12.
If they need further motivation, the Seahawks just have to remember the thrashing they took from the Rams in Week 1 (30-13).
The Rams are on a three-game losing streak and hope to stop that skid with the return of quarterback Matthew Stafford. They’ll probably get more of a boost from coming off a bye week, as they aren’t much different with or without Stafford.
Geno Smith is coming off his best game against the Commanders, and the Rams’ secondary won’t give much resistance to Smith’s passing game. These two teams are much different from what we saw in Week 1, so expect the unexpected.
