NFL Football 2023 Week 14 Preview. Last week, the 49ers were favored over the Eagles and blew them out. This week, the Cowboys are the favorites over Philadelphia, and it’s for higher stakes. They’re both after the NFC East top spot.

The Lions Are Only 3-Point Favorites Against the Bears
The oddsmakers are either not impressed with Detroit’s recent games, or they’re really impressed with Chicago’s – maybe both. This is the best 12-game stretch for the Lions since 1962. They’d be hard-pressed to miss the playoffs this year, but they still have to get past Chicago.
Detroit played a better game against the Saints last Sunday, not giving up any turnovers after giving up seven in the two games prior. They are 5-1 on the road and will win this one if they can stop giving away the ball.
The Bear’s offense has been inconsistent even with Justin Fields under center, but they were able to cover when they last played the Lions. Expect a close game.
Do the Bills Have a Chance Against the Chiefs?
Buffalo’s last game before their bye week was against the Eagles. They lost in overtime, which suggests they might be able to beat the Chiefs, especially with the extra week off. At 6-6, they’re in second place in the AFC East, with a rough schedule ahead of them, which includes the Cowboys and Dolphins. They’ll have to win against some challenging opponents to get into the postseason. A couple more losses will end any chance of getting in.
Patrick Mahomes threw for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception in their road loss against the Packers last week. They also lost several players, including LB Drue Tranquill, S Bryan Cook, and LT Donovan Smith. Mahomes’ passing game is struggling, but running back Isiah Pacheco rushed for 110 yards. They might have to focus on the ground game to defeat the Bills.
The Cowboys and Eagles Showdown
Dallas is still undefeated at home, and now, after beating Seattle, they have finally won against a winning team. They’ve won four straight since losing to Philadelphia on November 5th. It seems like a pivotal game this Sunday, doesn’t it?
The Eagles have been faltering for the last few weeks, but they somehow found a way to win until last Sunday against the 49ers. They are 10-2 SU and 7-3-2 ATS, but their recent blowout loss throws all that out the window, especially since Dallas is 9-3 SU and 8-4 ATS.
Both teams’ defenses have been brutalized in recent weeks, so expect a high-points game from two high-powered offenses. With Dallas continuing to improve and Philadelphia struggling, expect Dallas to cover.
The Broncos Visit the Chargers to Get Back into the Winning Column
Denver’s five-game winning streak ended against Texas last week, but they’re still doing better than the Chargers. So why are the Chargers 2.5-point favorites? It could be because the home team has won the last six times these teams have met. It can’t be because the Chargers beat the Patriots 6-0 last week. Although, it does make their defense look pretty good.
I think it’s because Russell Wilson threw three picks in the final 16 minutes of their game against Houston. The final pick came in the last minute in the end zone, which could have been a game-winning throw.
Even with their recent flubs, I still think the Broncos will prevail, so keep your limits in, just in case.
