New York Jets at Cleveland Browns
Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, who played for the Jets last season, is having a standout season. He has four starts this year, winning the last three. The 10-5 Browns can clinch a playoff berth if they win this game against the Jets.
Flacco connected with wide receiver Amari Cooper 11 times last week against the Texans for an incredible 265 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets are already eliminated from the playoffs and are 1-4-1 ATS on the road, while the Browns are a league-leading 7-1 ATS at home.
New York might be without quarterback Zack Wilson (concussion) and tight end Jeremy Ruckert (concussion). In addition, the Browns have one of the top five defenses in the NFL, which makes me think that fans will be jumping on this measly 7-point spread. Keep your limits in.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay could clinch the NFC South with a win against division rival New Orleans. Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers are hot with a four-game winning streak. Only the Ravens are doing better, with five wins in a row.
Tampa Bay is only 3-4 ATS at home, but the Saints are even worse at 2-5-1 ATS on the road. The Bucs beat the Saints in Week 4 and are arguably a much better team now. Derek Carr and his offense have shown some signs of improvement, but they’ll have to step it up if they hope to get into the playoffs. The Saints are now in third place and can only get there with a division title.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Seattle Seahawks
Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph is slated to start against the Seahawks, but it depends on Kenny Pickett’s health. Rudolph started last week against the Bengals and had one of his best career games, completing 17 of 27 passes for 290 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in their 34-11 rout.
Pickett had surgery after sustaining a high-ankle sprain on December 3 against the Cardinals. Mitchell Trubisky took over for the next two games but was benched after losing to the Patriots and Colts. I’m curious to see if Rudolph can put together two good performances in back-to-back weeks.
Neither team has been eliminated from the playoff hunt, but their chances are pretty slim. Seattle is 3-3-1 ATS at home, while Pittsburgh is 3-3 ATS on the road. They also have the same straight-up record of 8-7, which makes them evenly matched. In Seattle’s last 13 games, the favorite has won 12 of them. Your players will love that stat.
Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs
The Bengals got clobbered on the road against the Steelers, 34-11 in Week 16. Quarterback Jake Browning delivered his worst game since replacing an injured Joe Burrow.
The Chiefs have their own problems. They just lost to the Raiders at home, so playing on their own turf doesn’t appear to be in their favor. They are 3-4 ATS at home this season, while the Bengals have a 3-4 ATS road record. In their last six games, the Chiefs are 1-4-1 ATS. Plus, Patrick Mahomes has 14 interceptions this season – third most in the league. That’s not a good look for the reigning champions.
This tends to be one of the most bet on games of the season because of the rivalry between these two AFC powerhouses. So, keep your limits in or use your layoff account if needed.
