College Football ACC Championship Odds

As one of the top conferences in the nation, the ACC winner will receive an automatic bid into the College Football Playoff. It’s also likely that the winning team will get a top-four seed and a bye into the quarterfinals. So, who will be the ACC winner this year? Here’s a list of the best ACC championship odds and a breakdown of the top teams.

The ACC added three new schools: Cal, SMU, and Stanford. Cal and SMU jump into the middle of the group, but Stanford is alone in last place. Unfortunately, four top schools want to leave the conference: Florida State, Clemson, Miami, and North Carolina. It’s hard to say when that will happen, as they’re committed until 2032. For this year, we have 17 teams competing.

The Florida State Seminoles won the ACC last season against Louisville, giving them a 13-0 season, but it wasn’t enough to make it into the four-team playoff. This year will be different.

Florida State

The Seminoles went undefeated last season until the Bulldogs beat them in the Orange Bowl, negating their chances of being in the College Football Playoff. Even though they lost top players to the NFL Draft, coach Norvell masterfully worked the transfer portal to gain some fantastic talent to keep them at the top of the ACC.

Clemson

Between Florida State and Clemson, they’ve won all but one of the ACC Championships in the last 13 seasons. And the Tigers have won the bulk of those (8). Coach Swinney has brought Clemson to the national championship in four of the last five seasons, but his refusal to use the transfer portal has critics thinking he won’t be able to continue to keep this team at the top. Besides Army, Navy, and Air Force, Clemson is the only academy school that does not use the portal. This is a coach worth watching.

Miami

Under coach Mario Cristobal, this team has gone roughly .500 in the past two seasons. But the fact that he is one of the best recruiters in the nation keeps giving fans of the Hurricanes hope. He was able to bring in quarterback Cam Ward from Washington State, who should prove to be a game-changer and give this team a chance to make it to the CFP under the new 12-team format.

NC State

Out-of-conference games might not impact the ACC title, but if the Wolfpack can’t clinch it, they may have a chance at making the playoff in the new 12-team format. Coach Dave Doeren is largely underrated because he’s only had two losing seasons in his 13-year career. However, this team has been unable to put together an entire season of high-level play in the last few years. They go up against Clemson and Tennessee in the first four weeks, which should give us an indication of how well their season will go.

Louisville

It’s odd that Louisville was in the championship in 2023 but is not ranked this year, even though coach Jeff Brohm has a reputation for improving teams. At Purdue, he went 9-4 and 8-5 before coming to Louisville last year, where he brought the Cardinals to a better record than anyone imagined (10-4), finishing second. All eyes are on transfer quarterback Tyler Shough, who has shown some real talent on the field but also has a history of injury. If he can remain healthy, the team has a shot at the ACC title. Keep your limits in for this team.

Virginia Tech

The Hokies are unranked, but they could surprise some of the top teams this year. They went from a 2-4 start last season to end with a 7-6 record. With almost all of their top talent returning and a relatively weak schedule, they have the potential to improve on last year’s totals.
